Any time I leave the room he is usually right at my heels following me where I'm going. Today I had to go into the basement to take a picture of our rocking chair (post about that later), and Gus was right there with me. When I went in our room to get my camera Gus wanted to go under the blankets, I told him no and this is the look he gave me.

My second love
As most of you know I adore our dog Augusta. He really is a smart dog. He loves destuffing toys, going on walks with my parents, playing with Dakota and Tiger, chasing kitties, and eating treats.

Gus' Song
Sorry if this is annoying to some of you, we think it's pretty cute that Gus will sing along with the harmonica. Chase and I had just got home from dinner, and I was looking through a drawer in our bedroom. Chase saw his harmonica, and this is what ensued.

The tale of the new toy
Last weekend Chase and I decided to head to the pet store and get Gus a new stuffy toy. He'd been such a great dog the week before when we went boating, and didn't have to be on his leash the whole time. (This is not normal, he gets distracted very easily and will run off and not listen.)We stood in the store and debated over a few toys, trying to guess which one could live the longest. Chase chose this thick canvas blue dog with a fuzzy raccoon tail. Brought it home and gave it to Gus, who was so excited to have a new toy he forgot that we were even home. (If you know Gus at all, you know that he won't usually let us get in the house before he attacks us and smothers us with kisses, and loves.) He had the toy for maybe 5 minutes and had already ruined one of the squeakers, and not even 10 minutes into having it had ripped a hole in it. The stuffing and squeaker were gone. So if you ever come to our house and see our dog playing with a nasty stuffy body, you know why. Stuffys are easily destroyed at our house. Gus doesn't get them very often anymore. Instead he shreds up junk mail, maybe one day I'll get a picture of the destruction.

The big 5-0
For our fiftieth post Gus will show you some tricks. I know I make it sound like 50 is a big deal, it's not very often that you get to see our sweet puppers in action. Soooo..... onto the show.
Chase has been working with Gus since we got him almost two years ago. Trying to teach him new tricks. Gus knows the order I will do them in so he just does them all and then expects a treat. Chase on the other hand mixes it up, so he can't just do what he wants. Here's a video of him doing the tricks he currently knows how to do.
And now Chase is in the process of teasing him, by spinning him around with a rope and watching him run while he's dizzy.

The last week
I got a sewing machine. I just happened to mention to my mom that I would like to get one eventually, so if she saw a good deal to let me know. She was talking to someone that works at the temple with her, and the lady said "do you know anyone that wants a sewing machine?" Mom proceeded to ask why, the lady explained that she had a sewing machine and table that she was wanting to sell. She had only used the machine once and decided she didn't want to be a seamstress. Mom asked how much and it was only $150, even without asking me mom said we would take it. I'm so excited to have it, and even more excited that it didn't cost me a ton, it's so nice, and is getting lots of use these days. :) Here are a few things I've been using the sewing machine on.
Crayon rolls, more of these to come.
Making hooded towels, I still have a lot of work on these. They are having a boutique at Chases sister Kelsey's work on the 30th of April, so I'm working on getting a bunch of stuff ready to sell there. I've made over 60 hair bows this week too. Whatever doesn't sell at the boutique will be listed on my Etsy store.
Hanging out with this cool dude!
And freezing. Burrrrr....
We are staying at Brena and Jereds this week while they are in Florida on vacation. Yesterday the brand new furnace decided to freak out, and blow freezing cold air. I call Brena in a semi-panic. She tells me to call the company that installed the furnace, and have them come and fix it. They came out a few hours later and reset the furnace, showed me how to reset it if I needed, and left. The house warmed up, and Chase and I thought nothing more. At about 10 p.m. last night it was freezing again, so I reset the furnace, and it warmed up again. I woke up this morning to this temperature on the thermostat, and cold air blowing out of the vents. Jered called the company again, and they just came out. Hopefully the furnace quits freaking out, because I feel bad bugging them on their vacation.
