Body Worlds

I am lucky enough to have a father in law that thinks the world of me, and loves to take Chase and I out with him. Last night we were able to go see body worlds with he and my mother in law. I didn't think it would be possible, because the tickets were so much so of course Chase and I were excited to go see this exhibit. I wasn't so sure about how I would do with this because I am a pretty big wuss when it comes to death and bodies etc. I do have to admit that it did make my stomach turn a bit, but that also could have been because I hadn't eaten enough lunch. The exhibit was actually really cool to see. I'd also worn the wrong shoes for the occasion, we had to stand in line for an hour and a half, and then it took around an hour to go through the exhibit with all the other people. It's crazy to see what is really in your body, and what it's made of. After seeing the smokers lung, I would never smoke. They need to show something like that to kids to help them never smoke.
I think the hardest part of the exhibit for me was the baby room, showing all different babies at different stages along a pregnancy. They do have a warning as you go in that these babies were not savable in the period of time that the exhibit came from.
I wish I would have been able to take pictures, to remember some of the amazing things. They are just not allowed so the picture at the top I took off their website.
So thanks again Guy and Vicki for the great evening, and the tasty pizza and gelato afterwards.

The things that make Christmas

I was thinking today about what Christmas is, I decided I would wander the house and take pictures of the things that I think make or remind me of Christmas. So here we go. Number one has to be the birth baby Jesus, seeing how if it weren't for him we wouldn't have CHRISTmas. Garlands Christmas balls (especially the glittery ones)Poinsettia
12 layer jello (only 10 layers so far, I'm still working on it). It's become a tradition with Chase's family for me to bring this on Christmas eve.
Stars to top the tree, not on the tree because I just barely bought it
The Christmas tree
StockingsAngels
Cookies, yum yum
Santa Claus
Snow (I was too lazy to go outside to take a picture so I took it through the window.)
Snowmen

The Nativity
After actually doing this post it sounded so much better in my head, sorry folks you still get to see it, because it took to long to put it all on here.
Merry Christmas Everyone.

20 questions...Christmas edition

1. Egg nog or Hot chocolate? Hot chocolate, but if I drink too much I get a stomach ache

2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree? He always wrapped mine
3. Colored lights on tree/house or white? Either works for me
4. Do you hang mistletoe? Never have
5. When do you put up your decorations? Whenever I have time, it will probably be different when I have my own home.
6. What is your favorite holiday dish? I don't know that I have one favorite
7. Favorite Holiday memory as a child? Probably the year I got new scriptures but mom had tricked me by filling the box with rolls of pennies to make it feel the same weight.
8. Did you write letters to Santa? I don't really remember
9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve? Not until I got married, we get pj's from my in-laws
10. How do you decorate your Christmas Tree? In our apartment it was just a little 3' tree with too many lights and bright colored ornaments. I bought a bigger tree last year with pretty purple, green and blue ornaments. My sister is borrowing the tree and my mom has the ornaments on the tree here at the house.
11. Can you ice skate? Yeah a little, I'm definantly not pro
12. Do you remember your favorite gift? ummmm...
13. What’s the most important thing about the Holidays for you? Family, and the real meaning Christ
14. What is your favorite Holiday Dessert? Grandmas carrot pudding, maybe I should make it this year.
15. What is your favorite holiday tradition? Lately it's been family night with the crazy present game
16. What tops your tree? I prefer a star, but this year it's a bow
17. Which do you prefer giving or receiving? I like to give but I really like receiving
18. What is your favorite Christmas Song? I love all christmas music, Chase could vouch for that I have about 15 christmas cd's in the car
19. Candy Canes? If they are fruit flavored
20. Do you feel Christmas is too commercialized? Yes and no. I love that it’s everywhere during December but I hate the expensive gift push and that it all starts in October.

No Baby :(

Just thought everyone that didn't know already should know. Chase and I miscarried the beginning of the month. It's a drama filled story (if I'm telling it). We found out at 10 weeks that only the sac had formed, and there wasn't a baby in there or a heartbeat. We had to choose to miscarry. It's been a rough week and a half, and hopefully my body is on the mend. And hopefully we can get pregnant again pretty quick.

4th picture tag

Rachael tagged me, and I thought it would be fun to play.

Here are the rules.
1) Go to your pictures.
2)Upload the 4th picture from the 4th folder
3)Explain
4) Tag your friends

This was back when Chase and I had only been married a little while. I was having a crappy day, so Chase decided to stick all the little credit card choice stickers from some junk mail all over his face. Needless to say it made me smile and cheered up my day.

I tag anyone that reads this blog, seeing how I don't know who all actually does.

Things to do when bored

So what do you do when you are bored? I've found something new to do. You use your husbands new lap top, go into photo booth and make yourself look as silly as possible. What do you think, did it work? I enjoyed myself, don't know that Augusta liked it so much. Poor dog puts up with so much.

If you'd like to see some more funnies like Sloth from The Goonies. You can head over to my sisters blog and check out Camden http://jeredandbrena.blogspot.com/2008/12/hey-you-guys.html

Washing the keyboard

I don't usually allow myself to have drinks near the computer, because I know I 'm a clutz, and will probably spill. Yesterday was the day to prove myself right. For some reason I had my water bottle all the way full and sitting on the desk, but didn't realize the lid was only sitting on the top and not screwed on. I decided to have a drink, and grabbed the bottle by the lid, big mistake. Next thing I know my shirt is wet half way up, my keyboard is full of water and the top of my desk has things floating on it. Nice work I think to myself, but start to laugh inside. I run and grab a towel and try to salvage what isn't ruined already. Guess I wasnt' quick enough to save the keyboard. It worked just fine for a little while, but then the space bar went out. Next thing I know every key is typing 2 letters. For example SwAzVfEr Meaning Save. I was able to go to the store later last night and get myself a new keyboard, It's ok, but it's defanantly not what I'm used to.
So today I say RIP good friend, hopefully someday I'll have another keyboard as good as you. And everyone remember that washing your keyboard with water doesn't work, please don't try this at home. :)

Just my luck

After being sick for almost 8 weeks, you can imagine my relief when I started feeling better last Friday and wasn't sick all day every day. Guess the party couldn't go on for too long. A cold decided to invade my body on Saturday, and I've been trying to get rid of it ever since.

The project that may never end

For Christmas this year I decided to take my Mother in laws recipes, and make them into a nice book. I decided this before I saw all the recipes she had. Come to find out she has about a million, that she has ripped out of magazines, printed off the Rachael Ray website, or people have given her. After seeing the gigantic book that I was going to have to make, I asked her to go through them so I wouldn't be typing up stuff she never uses anymore. She went through a few and I quickly typed them up. I'm only at around number 100, and I can't get her to go through the rest. Guess she's getting a small condensed version of what I really wanted to do.
Anyone want some recipes?

The Cake

Chases uncle Tyson and his girlfriend Vanessa headed to Las Vegas a few weeks ago and got married. Grandma Jill decided to have an open house for them on Tuesday while they were here for a visit. (They live in Seattle, so we don't see them much). I offered to make them a wedding cake, since every couple needs to have a wedding cake. Everyone was so excited for me to do it, and I got to choose how to do it. Even better I thought. So I decided to use chocolate fondant, with a plum ribbon and some white flowers. Easy enough right. Not so, apparently chocolate fondant doesn't really work if you make it yourself. Mine fell apart into tiny little pieces. I moved on to plan B, there wasn't really a plan B so mom and I had to make one up. Here is what we came up with. Tyson and Vanessa loved it, what do you all think?

It was a good plan I think, come to find out Vanessa isn't a fru-fru type of girl. Congratulations again Tyson and Vanessa.

Etsy

I thought I would share my craftiness with everyone. So I started my own Etsy shop to sell my scarfs and baby headbands and bows. When I get time to post all the bows of course.
After making myself one of these scarfs and my sisters saw them, they wanted one themselves. So I ended up calling them my Sissi Scarfs. They are so warm, and cozy, I'm excited to wear mine all winter.

Welcome!

Welcome to our blog! We have been wanting to start one for a while now, so here we are! We hope to be able to share lots of love and laughter with all of you. Come by often to check up on us!
