This last Friday night my sister Brena and I went up to our sister Shaundas house in Bountiful for a sleep over. We watched some chick flicks and went to bed. In the morning Brena was in the process of doing our niece Teagans hair. Camden was trying to help her mommy, but mommy told her to do Aunt "Shim's" hair. (She calls me Shim, quite funny because she knows my name starts with a K.) After Brena was done with Teagans hair, Teagan asked to do Brenas hair. Here's the end results. What do you think, do we have future stylists on our hands?

Congratulations Graduate
It's been a long time in the making, and lots of blood sweat and tears on the part of Chases mom. But Chases little brother Connor finally graduated from high school last night. At the end of Connors junior year he was just going to give up and get his GED, he was so behind and needed to make up at least 6 classes. He went in to talk to his counselor about his choice and they came up with a different plan. Connor would stay in school and make up his 6 classes via BYU independent study packets, and lots of yelling from his mom. He finished up just in time.

The graduate heading up to get his diploma
With his parents. Nothing beats forced smiles from all.
Connor, no matter how much we all made fun of you (Because you really are a smart kid, just a little lazy), we really are proud of you. Good luck in college.

The big 5-0
For our fiftieth post Gus will show you some tricks. I know I make it sound like 50 is a big deal, it's not very often that you get to see our sweet puppers in action. Soooo..... onto the show.
Chase has been working with Gus since we got him almost two years ago. Trying to teach him new tricks. Gus knows the order I will do them in so he just does them all and then expects a treat. Chase on the other hand mixes it up, so he can't just do what he wants. Here's a video of him doing the tricks he currently knows how to do.
And now Chase is in the process of teasing him, by spinning him around with a rope and watching him run while he's dizzy.

Your Eyes
Back before Chase and I got married he wrote me this song. I instantly fell in love and made him try and record it for me, it wasn't very good quality. Well last night he re-recorded it, posted it on Youtube and Facebook and I didn't know till today. I went to listen and started crying. I can thank my dad for that.
Does anyone know how to post his music on our music player? I know how to post stuff that is just floating around the internet.

Race for the cure
Today I walked in the Race for the Cure, with my Mother in law, and some of her friends from work. We were the "Stream Team." She works in a urologists office, hence the stream. Carol in the bright pink shirt is a breast cancer survivor so we all walked in her honor. We finished up in just a little over an hour. What a great way to spend a Saturday morning.
Sorry I can't name everyone in the picture. I'm the one in the orange sweater 3 from the left, my sister in law Kelsey is the one in the shadow to my right. Mother in law Vicki next to me on the right. Father in law Guy is the tall one with the white hat. Aunt Teri is in front of Guy, and her daughter jen is in front of her with the really short shorts on.

A favorite recipe
Today after Chase and I got home from the dog park, I wanted a smoothie, or Popsicle. Chase suggested that I make Frozen Hot Chocolate, it's one of our favorite treats. Now I've never been to New York and had the frozen hot chocolate at Serendipity so I have nothing to compare it to. We usually don't have whipped cream to put on top. I also like to use the ice from Sonic if I have some, it blends up better.
Frozen hot chocolate
6 half ounce pieces of a variety of your favorite chocolates
2 teaspoons of store-bought hot chocolate mix
1 ½ Tablespoons of sugar
1 ½ cups of milk
3 cups of ice
Whipped cream
Chocolate shavings
Chop the chocolate into small pieces. Place in top of double boiler over simmering water, (or melt in microwave using 10 second increments and stirring after each 10 seconds.) Stir occasionally until melted. Add the hot chocolate mix and sugar. Stir until completely melted. Remove from heat and slowly add ½ cup of milk until smooth. Cool to room temperature.
In blender, place the remaining cup of milk, the room-temperature chocolate mixture and the ice. Blend on high speed until smooth and the consistency of a frozen daiquiri. Pour into a giant goblet and top with the whipped cream and chocolate shavings.

Happy 3 day Birthday to....Me
It was my birthday on Friday, I spent the day prepping for the boutique that Brena and I were doing, and trying to sell things. Speaking of selling, we only sold a few things, barely made back our entrance fee, and came home with more stuff than we should have. Sorry no pictures Elaine, I forgot. Our booth was pretty cute though. On a happy note I won a super cute tee shirt, and Brena bought me a really cute bracelet. Oh and I came home to this...
A box of 18 Godiva truffles, and this beautiful yellow/green orchid. Chase sure knows how to win my heart. (Sorry for the crappy photography)
Saturday Brena and I went to a bridal shower for a cousins fiancee, she's a really cute girl and we are excited to have her in our family. I only wish we actually saw our cousins more and knew them better. My friend Pat came into town from Wisconsin for a visit, so he joined us for a birthday dinner (It was his birthday on the 15th) at The Cheesecake Factory. It was good, but we left without having any cheese cake. I couldn't bring myself to pay $7.00 for a piece of cake.

Pat, myself, and Chase at Cheese Cake Factory. Chase didn't want to ask someone to take our picture so he did it himself.
Today was my birthday dinner with Chase's family. We had my favorite shredded pork tacos, and delicious strawberry short cake from Market street grill. Guess when you make cakes for everyone elses birthdays, someone has to make yours it just happened to be Market Street this year. Even though I requested a simple angle food cake with strawberries and whipped cream.
I wasn't able to get a picture of the cake before it was cut into, everyone was so eager to have a piece and get out of here. So by the time I walked upstairs all the candles were lit and the singing began.
Gus enjoyed the extra whipped cream off my plate, he seems to like these birthday things.

I've just spent the last few hours updating the Etsy store. I still have a few hours to go. If anyone's interested here are some of the bow's I've done recently, they will all be for sale on Etsy, and at the boutique on Friday.

Family Night
On the first Sunday of every month, we get together with my family for Family night. One person is in charge of the main part of the meal, and everyone else is assigned something to bring to go with it. We have a lesson and a fun activity usually. Other than that we just sit around and visit and enjoy each others company. I got my camera out to take some pictures of the happenings yesterday. My nieces Camden and Teagan took over from there. Here are some of the pictures that came from the experience. The two cute little girls are Camden and Teagan.
