5 months

Owen turned 5 months old a week ago, but daddy has been super busy with other edits so we weren't able to post his photo sooner. You can tell he's growing, and getting chubby. Guess all the rice cereal is doing it's job.
We had an appointment with a surgeon this past Monday, to discuss the details of when and how to fix Owens hernia. He will be having surgery next Tuesday October 26th. Please keep your prayers with him, and his mommy and daddy as this is a stressful thing even if it's only a 15 minute surgery. We aren't looking forward to all the hospital bills that will be coming soon after. We just got his birth paid off.
Well onto what you really came to look at, the adorable almost 12 pound boy!His hair is now too long for his fohawk.
Looks a bit scared here, I don't remember what we were doing. Man he's a cutie!

Maya Beaties

Cousin Josh and Elaine's little girl Maya was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes a little over a year ago. They as a family will be participating in the JDRF walk on November 6, 2010 in Tucson, AZ. They made this adorable video letter for the cause. Please check it out.

He loves the kitty cat

While at Bear Lake, auntie Brena was playing with Owen and showing him Camden's sewing cards. Owen was loving looking at them, and acting so cute. He really loves his auntie, and is always doing cute things for her. I especially love his reaction to the kitty cat and the bunny rabbit.

First solid food

At Owens 4 month check up the pediatrician looked at Owens growth chart and said everything looked fine, even though Owen was under the curve he was following right along it. Then the pediatrician looked at Owens face and said he didn't think he was chubby enough, so we were sent home with orders to either give Owen a formula bottle after he nursed to make sure he is getting full enough, or start feeding him solid food. We tried the formula thing, but Owen wanted nothing to do with it, and kept looking at me like I was crazy.
So here we are at 4 months and 4 days old eating rice cereal. Owen loves the stuff, and finished off the first bowl I ever gave him. We make sure to let him have it at least once a day, but today he got lucky and got to have it twice. Hopefully this helps him chunk up a little and make the pediatrician happy. We'll get to see the progress in a week or so when we go in for a weight check. Mommy really wasn't ready for this step yet, it means that my baby is growing up faster than I ever thought possible.

4 months

Our little man is 4 months old, it's crazy how time flies when we are having so much fun. We are head over heels in love with this little guy. He is growing, just slowly. As of his 4 month appointment he is 9 pounds 14 ounces, and 23 and 1/2 inches tall.
He sleeps great at night, usually going to bed between 8 and 9 PM and waking up between 6 and 7 AM. He eats and then goes back to sleep again for up to another 2 hours. He has trouble napping during the day though. Does anyone have any advice for getting him to nap without mommy having to hold him. I tried to talk to the pediatrician about it, and he asked "would you rather have him sleep during the day, or at night." I chose night.

when screaming = still cute

I was cleaning some things off the desktop on chases imac and saw this picture of Owen from his blessing photo shoot. I think even though he is screaming he is still super adorable, maybe I'm a meanie though.

Bear Lake 2010

We were able to take a week long vacation the end of August to Bear Lake with Chases family. It was lots of fun, and we spent a lot of time just hanging out on the beach. I was able to get out on the boat a few times, as Brena and Camden were there and willing to watch Owen for me. I look forward to next year when Owen can actually play in the water and hopefully enjoy the lake a little more.
Owens first feel of the water, it was pretty warm and he didn't seem to mind it.

New Friends

Last week, August 11, 2010. I had lunch at the park with a few of my friends from high school; Erica and Julianna. We all had babies recently, and thought it would be fun to get them together for a "play date". The girls loved owen, at one point Ella was holding Owens hand, and Esper was holding onto Owen for dear life. Hopefully we can all get together again before it gets too cold and the babies can play together again.

Owens Blessing

Not the best family photo, I had been crying, Owen was hungry, and Chase was just doing what I told him to do.

On Sunday August 1, 2010 Chase was able to bless Owen and give him a name and a blessing. Owen objected by quietly crying during the whole thing. It was a beautiful blessing. Owen was blessed with health and strength, the desire to serve a mission, and to find a beautiful wife whom he could love and take to the temple. I know there were other blessings, but I forgot to ask someone to write things down for me to remember.

I had grand plans for my mom to sew Owens blessing outfit. I bought all the fabric and pattern, but the pattern was just too big. So Chase and I resorted to buying him one. We brought it home to find out it was the same size as the pattern, but there was a no return policy, so we ended up keeping it. He sure looked cute in his little white outfit, courtesy of Sundays Child. Booties that his aunt Catrina made for him. And blanket from Aunt Colleen. He sure is an angel.
I thank my heavenly father every day for sending me this miracle baby, and for teaching me faith, and patience. I make sure Owen knows he is worth all the pain, and bed rest I went through to get him here. I would never send him back.
