I am lucky enough to have a father in law that thinks the world of me, and loves to take Chase and I out with him. Last night we were able to go see body worlds with he and my mother in law. I didn't think it would be possible, because the tickets were so much so of course Chase and I were excited to go see this exhibit. I wasn't so sure about how I would do with this because I am a pretty big wuss when it comes to death and bodies etc. I do have to admit that it did make my stomach turn a bit, but that also could have been because I hadn't eaten enough lunch. The exhibit was actually really cool to see. I'd also worn the wrong shoes for the occasion, we had to stand in line for an hour and a half, and then it took around an hour to go through the exhibit with all the other people. It's crazy to see what is really in your body, and what it's made of. After seeing the smokers lung, I would never smoke. They need to show something like that to kids to help them never smoke.
I think the hardest part of the exhibit for me was the baby room, showing all different babies at different stages along a pregnancy. They do have a warning as you go in that these babies were not savable in the period of time that the exhibit came from.
I wish I would have been able to take pictures, to remember some of the amazing things. They are just not allowed so the picture at the top I took off their website.
So thanks again Guy and Vicki for the great evening, and the tasty pizza and gelato afterwards.

So they're real bodies and stuff? I thought they were simulated. It looks cool, but kinda icky too. I wouldn't have been able to go to the baby part at all, you are very brave.
I'm so jealous!!! I asked Jered if he would take me and he kind of looked at me like there was no way we were ever going to spend $20 a ticket to see an exhibit. Big party pooper! I should have told him he could take me to Wicked instead. Those tickets are only $200 each!
Yep real bodies. People that have donated themselves for plastination and use in the exhibit.
Jered should take you the big party pooper, it's a once in a lifetime thing as I see it, unless you go looking for it when you are out of town. $20 is way better than $200.
We saw the body world exhibit when it was here in Chicago. It really is such a neat thing to see. I'm glad you were able to go see it, you must really have an awesome Father-in-law. :-)
